Parque Arví is a living classroom for environmental and cultural education; Open to knowledge, to curiosity, to exploration. Air quality monitoring is done annually, measuring the particulate matter (micro and small particles suspended in the air), which allows establishing a comparison between the concentrations found and the permissible limits determined in Resolution 610 of 2010 Ministry Environment, Housing and Territorial Development.
Every year, air quality monitoring is carried out where the noise level is determined, in order to verify compliance with the permissible limits determined in Resolution 627 of 2006 of the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development.
In compliance with the Forest Compensation Plan required by the Ministry of the Environment, through Resolution 1859 of 2009, the Corporation carries out a reforestation plan divided into two phases:
- Enrichment: carried out in an area of 10.13 ha, with native species, where 7,587 individuals were planted. This activity was carried out in the area of El Salado, specifically in the sectors of La Alzate, where 3,100 individuals were planted; La Marucha, with 3,987 individuals planted; and the area of the park of Guarne, that received the sowing of 500 individuals.
- Restoration of hedges: was carried out in an area of 5.1 ha, which was restored with the sowing of 4,413 individuals of native and exotic species.
Each year the monitoring of domestic wastewater, derived from the operation of the Park, is carried out, as required by current national legislation; In order to verify the efficiency of removal of the contamination load, in the same way with this monitoring the systems of treatment of these waters are maintained in optimal conditions guaranteeing that the impact on the receiving water source and the soil is minimized.
Committed to the environmental policies of the National Government, the Corporation implemented a system to measure the carbon footprint of the operation of the Park, based on the results, to develop projects aimed at reducing or offsetting the emissions generated. In addition, there is a management plan, in accordance with current regulations, for the management of emission sources of ozone-depleting substances.
Arví Park Corporation carries out monitoring on the tourist trails, which determine if there are changes in the physical properties of the soil and in the diversity and structure of plant species, derived from the influx of visitors; the results of these studies, guide the actions that are undertaken for the conservation of the territory.
The Corporation monitors the change of vegetation cover as an indicator of the quality of the natural ecosystems present, comparing the conditions that occur before and after the operation of the Arví Park.
Conscious of the importance of landscape conservation, contemplated as landscape beauty, different actions are carried out aimed at recognizing and maintaining landscape resources at a cultural level, from the stories that are woven with the people who inhabit it.
Arví Park is located in a territory with an invaluable water wealth, which allows recognizing water as the basis of diversity and vital element for the well-being and development of the planet. That is why the Corporation develops projects and actions aimed at its care and protection.
In order to publicize the architectural importance, its beginnings and interventions from history, the Arví Park Corporation develops different events, publications, and activities that allow the dissemination of the material heritage of the territory.
The recovery and documentation of the oral memory from the strategy of Arví ; the development of tourism products such as: heritage trees, which allows account of history and landscape; The promotion of the traditional cuisine of the village, among other actions, safeguard the knowledge and encourage the rescue of traditions through the know-how, achieving from these actions the permanence of the different cultural manifestations of the territory.
The development of the Archeology Management Plan that has been developed jointly with public and private institutions with presence in the territory (EPM, Mayor’s Office, University of Antioquia and Corantioquia), will allow, through the formulation of the same, Conservation, protection and sustainable management of the findings reported for this area declared by the Ministry of Culture as a Property of Cultural Interest of the Nation.
